From emergency calls to fire prevention education, they’re the backbone of safety in town.
The clinic provides essential healthcare services, from routine check-ups to urgent care, keeping residents healthy and supported close to home. Having medical care nearby is a comfort that makes life here feel secure, especially for families and older adults.
Beyond formal services, the community plays a huge role in safety. Neighbors watch out for one another, the City and Fire & EMS organizes preparedness events, and everyone pitches in during emergencies. Whether it’s a storm, a health concern, or a town-wide project, people come together quickly and effectively.
Just last night I saw a medivac helicopter fly into Seldovia after midnight. Our Volunteer EMS Services (EMTs and ambulance driver) transferred a patient who flew out in the dark of night to receive care across the bay. Whenever we see that, the community says a prayer for a safe flight and whoever is needing that emergency care along with the utmost thanks for those who serve our community with their lifesaving skills.
