It is that time of year again - and we are HOPEFUL that some fresh salmonberries will be available to create the amazing dishes for the contest this year! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be many little green berries in my yard or in a couple of my "picking spots" but let's hope you're finding them! If not - dig into the freezer as there are sure to be some left from last year's picking!
We moved the venue as the 19th is the date of a special Seldovian's Celebration of Life - and we certainly want folks to attend that and honor our friend. So this year, we are going to be hosting the contest at Jerry & Suzie Stranik's home at 3pm on the 17th. Kirsten Dixon and a group of baking students will be there as well! Because of the venue, there will only be room for 5 entries for Sweet and 5 entries for Savory this year, for a total of 10 entries. Once they are registered, we won't be accepting more. Please call 907-406-0044 to register with your name and entry recipe prior to the 15th of August to be included in the event. Please bring enough to share a taste with up to 20 "bites" as there will be prizes for People's Choice!! Due to the venue location, and Kirsten's group that will be in attendance, you must have an entry in the competition to attend this year - so sign up early! First come, first served! All entrants may bring one guest to the party!
